जंटलमन व्हायचे
सिंहाने ठरवले :
टूथपेस्टने
दात घासले !

अंगात घालून
वुलनचा कोट
खिशात ठेवली
शंभराची नोट !

चटयापट्यांची
पॆन्ट घातली
वरती छान
टाय बांधली !

स्वत:वरच
खूष होऊन
एक माणूस
टाकला खाऊन !

 'Gentleman' Lion

One fine day,
the lion roared,
“I’ll be a gentleman—
not a wild beast anymore!”

He brushed his teeth
with minty paste,
scrubbed them shiny
with noble grace.

He wore a coat
of finest wool,
and tucked a bill—
a hundred full!

He picked some pants
with checks and stripes,
then tied a tie—
just right and tight.

So proud he felt,
his chest puffed wide...
he saw a man—
and gulp!—he tried!
